I know many people aren’t excited about Chardonnay but this wine is well made from start to finish and a great example of a better California Chardonnay. Argentina once again gives the bargain hunting wine lover a reason to seek out new world wine making from the southern hemisphere. The grapes are grown 15 miles from the city of Mendoza south of the Mendoza river 3,200 feet above sea level. Clay soils, mature vines and warmer temperatures combine to produce high quality, intense fruit, that transforms into a world class wine value. Not for the faint of heart, full of black fruit, oak, spice and tannin. If your local wine shop doesn’t carry Terrazas Cabernet Sauvignon, get them to special order this wine for you now. Made from 80% Garganega and 20% Chardonnay and full of greatness. A beautiful straw color and a nose of floral perfume. On the palate expect an explosion of tropical fruit with a full mouth feel that segues into a wonderful finish. This wine is great for sipping alone but will pair well with lighter lunch fare.
